Stairs

Quick blurb about miss Claudia. She now walks up and down the stairs like a big girl and doesn't like to hold onto our hands! Well last night Nate and I were watching her go down the stairs and in the slowest motion possible she fell down a few steps....is it bad Nate & I couldn't stop laughing?!? Obviously after we knew she was ok we laughed but i swear i've never seen her move so slowly! plop one step then the second and then a tumble. I'm thankful she was ok but i still can't stop laughing about it! The good thing too is that it hasn't made her scared of the steps, she's back at them like nothing happened! I love my little monkey!

A week with the in-laws

With the Thanksgiving holidays Nate was able to be home and his parents came out to spend it with us.  Where do i start.... the week flew by and it was so nice to have family around! I really hate being so far from our loved ones especially around holiday times! Grammie got to see Claudia go to swim lessons and toddler gym! We didn't plan anything for the week just spent quality family time except for a little shopping trip to a few stores:-) We ventured out to eat at the Olive Garden and lets just say poor Rex will never be dinning out! Claudia just can't sit still she wants to constantly be on the move so no more eating out for us! Its just to stressful and not enjoyable trying to see how fast you can eat and leave!
Claudia loves her Papaw! She wanted to be with him all the time and when we'd ask whose your favorite her response was papaw, it was so cute!  And lets not forget Britain was usually right there with Papaw too! I'm so glad Claudia took to both grammie and papaw, she's changed so much and becoming a little social butterfly!

Thanksgiving was a fun day of cooking, eating and watching football! I attempted the May hot apples again this year, still not the same but its better then last year! One of these years i will perfect them!


I found out I'm going to be an Aunt again! Congratulations Meg, Cory, and Brody Puckett! We are so excited for you all!

We found out that Claudia LOVES Elmo aka "Melmo" She wants to watch elmo all the time and is constantly running around saying "melmo"So I guess i'll be running out to the store to get a plush Elmo for Christmas!
 The stockings are hung, the lights up on the house, the tree is up and all the decorating is done! Its so nice to know its all up! My christmas shopping is all done, just need to mail the gifts out to family! and buy that elmo doll!

Angela's Baby Shower

Kelly Gerlach and I threw a baby shower for Angela Anaya.  She is expecting a baby girl in February! Kelly and I started off good and planning early but then were scrambling last minute! We decided to make onesies for the new baby girl with cutting designs out from Kelly's cricut and ironing them on the onesies, we decided to do this 2 days before the shower! What were we thinking?!? They turned out so cute and I'm so bummed i didn't take a picture! My favorite is that Kelly calls me the night before and says you are going to be so mad at me....she went to get balloons and they had no helium! What party store doesn't have helium! Craziness but it all worked out and it was no big deal but it was funny at the time! I must say it was the longest baby shower i've ever hosted/been to! That just means we had a great time together and I'm once again so thankful for the great friendships I've made!

Christmas in November!

So as our big gift for Claudia this year we decided to get her the pottery barn anywhere chair because she loves sitting in her own little space and whenever we go to someone else's house with a small chair she sits in it, just ask her cousin Brody who she bit because she wanted to sit in his chair!! Well we decided on a chair and decided to go neutral and monogram it with "Call Kids" Its so adorable and actually matches our couches downstairs!  The chair arrived while Nate was gone and as soon as he got home he opened the box and put it together and gave it to Claudia! So the chair will no longer be under the tree on christmas morning due to Daddy wanting to give it to his princess now! So now back out to shopping(i'm really upset about this *sarcasm*) for something under the tree!  Nate can only blame himself for this one!  I'm also glad the chair has gotten multiple use from both our kids already....

Attempting a blog!

So i tried once before with a blog but quickly lost interest aka adding posts! But with our family and friends being so far from us i really should keep up with what is happening in our lives!

Yesterday Claudia went to Timarees 1st birthday party that was at the zoo. She loved the carousel from a far but wasn't too sure about it once we got on, the first attempt was unsuccessful (and a very frustrated mommy had to walk away) but 2nd time was a charm except for the one handed death grip she had on me! She also loved the peacock and i think overall she had a good time!

YEAH WE ARE BOTH HAPPY!

Today we had the 7th squadron Thanksgiving feast on base, of course the 2nd year in a row Nate hasn't been home for it:-(  On the car ride there, i got her to say Turkey and gobble gobble, her vocabulary is just growing so much! I love teaching her everyday! Claudia is such a clinger when meeting all new people but by the end of the night she was running around with all the other kids! It was so much fun to watch her interact with them and want to be apart of what they were doing. All the boys were running around playing tag and of course just being boys and man i don't know if I'm ready for little Rex! a boy what the heck am i going to do?!? I just was being overprotective of my little girl when the boys were all running circles around her! Of course she got a nice bump  on her head but all she needed was a hug from mom and then she was back to running around!



 I also have to share that my lil girl is obsessed with brushing her teeth! Whenever Nate or I are brushing she wants to its so adorable!She'll put her finger up like she's brushing her teeth and say teeth! I love that she brushes for a minute or two, walks around and then says all done! Now whether she's doing a good job of really cleaning her teeth is another story but I'm just happy she wants to put a toothbrush in her mouth! We've come a long way from biting Nate or I's fingers while brushing!
